Our Business:
Located in Melbourne and Sydney, we have an incredible team of over 100 full-time and 1000 casual, passionate hospitalitarians. Spread across 4 locations in Melbourne and 3 in Sydney, our team offer catering services at stunning, iconic venues as well as major events such as the Australian Open and Melbourne Cup Carnival. While our staffing teams oversee our casual workforce, our HR team look over the permanent staff and support senior management to lead their teams.
Position Overview:
Based in Melbourne, we are seeking a proactive HR Coordinator with HR and hospitality experience to work directly with the Head of HR in delivering comprehensive services across the business. Being part of a small, dynamic team offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across all areas of HR, including recruitment, onboarding, learning & development, compliance, WHS, WorkCover, performance management, employee engagement, separation processes, and, most importantly, contributing to building a positive workplace culture.
Main Duties:
- Support the Head of HR in delivering HR services across the business.
- Perform high-volume administrative tasks with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Provide support, guidance, and advice to the Staffing Team overseeing our casual employees.
- Manage end-to-end recruitment, onboarding and offboarding processes for permanent roles, ensuring a seamless experience.
- Support learning & development initiatives, including scheduling training sessions and maintaining training records.
- Coordinate WorkCover claims, injury management, and return-to-work processes.
- Support WHS compliance by maintaining records and assisting with safety initiatives.
- Assist in drafting and updating HR policies, procedures, contracts, and communications.
- Coordinate employee engagement initiatives to promote a positive workplace culture.
- Assist with workforce planning and reporting to meet operational needs.
Skills/Experience Required:
- Strong communication, organisation, time management and administrative skills.
- Experience in recruitment and onboarding.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment with a high workload.
- General understanding of awards, enterprise agreements and employment legislation.
- Drafting HR policies, procedures, documents and communications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
- Experience and understanding of the Hospitality industry.
