We are looking for a receptionist to join our current team.

This is a permanent part-time position for 3-4 days/week, negotiable depending on applicant.

We are a busy specialist practice and are looking for an experienced medical receptionist. We have a team of friendly medical specialists and receptionists, who work closely with oncology nurses, hospital and clinical trials staff. This is a highly rewarding role, requiring a compassionate, caring personality, who is proficient and thorough. We are looking for someone who is keen to learn and develop their current skill level.

The applicant duties will include but are not limited to:

Greeting and arriving patients, booking appointments, answering telephone enquiries

Manage daily incoming and outgoing correspondence, e-mails and faxes; scanning and photocopying

Liaising with external departments and doctors to coordinate patient care

Advise patients of billing policies; issue invoices and receipts; processing payments.

Routine tidying and stocking tasks; ensuring reception and waiting areas are clean and tidy.

Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality is maintained at all times.

The applicant should demonstrate the following qualities:

Compassionate and caring approach to patients and staff

Passion for delivering high level medical care

Respect and courtesy to other members of the practice team

Ability to multi-task proficiently with attention to detail & accuracy

Confidence with computer skills and software

Experience with medicare & health fund billing procedures ideally in a specialist practice

Experience with Genie is highly desirable

This position is for 3-4 days/week, depending on the applicant. Flexibility in availability to cover staff leave as required is desirable. Casual appointments will be considered.
