The Role and Responsibilities
As the Senior Payroll Officer, you’ll take ownership of the end-to-end payroll process for a large and complex monthly payroll. Reporting to the Head of Payroll, you’ll play a key part in the team’s ongoing transformation journey—working on exciting projects that focus on compliance, automation, and improving the employee experience. This role will suit someone who enjoys the structure of BAU but also thrives when given the chance to innovate and influence change.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Processing end-to-end monthly payroll for a large, multi-site workforce;
- Supporting payroll-related month-end tasks including reconciliations and reporting;
- Assisting with EA interpretation and compliance alongside the Head of Payroll;
- Contributing to payroll transformation initiatives and continuous improvement projects; and
- Participating in annual remuneration reviews, salary packaging, and incentive payments.
The Successful Applicant
Within the context of the role described. The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following expertise:
- 5–7 years of end-to-end payroll experience in a large, multi-site organisation;
- Confident working with high-volume, complex payrolls;
- Proficient in Chris21 and the MS Office Suite (Excel especially);
- Exposure to Kronos is highly desirable;
- Strong data management and remuneration review experience;
- Passionate about process improvement and elevating the employee experience; and
- A proactive team player who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
