About the Job

We are looking to fill a casual/ part-time Medical Reception position for 2 days a week, Monday 8am to close (approx. 6:30pm) and Wednesday 8am to close (approx. 6:30pm). Having flexibility to work extra shifts when necessary to cover holiday/ sick leave is appreciated.

About the role

This role is to answer phone calls, answer patient enquiries, organise appointments, handle billings, reception duties and administrative tasks in order to ensure smooth and efficient functioning of the medical practice and provide an exceptional level of care to our patients with compassion and discretion.

For this role you would be closing the practice at the end of the day, this involves being the sole receptionist and leaving when the last doctor is finished. This would only be done after you have had training to work solo and not expected immediately at the start.

This is part of a team environment under the supervision of the practice manager.

Skills and experience

Essential:

Basic knowledge of MS Word/Excel and computer literate

Flexibility with roster

Demonstrate ability to prioritise and organise with attention to detail

Work cooperatively and independently.

Demonstrated patient focused approach in service provision with genuine empathy and interest in their needs

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, especially over the phone.

Professionalism is expected where you are well presented, friendly, courteous and obliging when dealing with patients, doctors, nurses and colleagues

Represent the practice in a confident and positive manner at all times

Maintain absolute confidentiality regarding patient and practice information

Being fully vaccinated is required, including COVID vaccination.

Desirable:

Knowledge of Best Practice Software

CPR/Triage Training and/or experience
