Payroll Accountant

4 month contract

Office Based in Sydney Inner West

We have an opening for a Payroll/ Management Accountant to work for one of Australia's most reputable and highly regarded building contractors on a contract basis.

Established for over 30 years, our client has a turnover of over $30 Million and employs over 150 staff throughout Australia.

Reporting to the Financial Controller you will play an integral position in the finance team with responsibilities consisting of;

Management Accounting/Reporting - Assist with the preparation of monthly profit & loss, balance sheet and end of month reports.

Journals and balance sheet reconciliations

Statutory Reporting

Review and approval of accounts payable invoices and invoice runs

Overseeing accounts payable (EFT and credit cards transactions) reconciliations

Processing payroll

Ensuring accurate and timely month-end and year-end processing including reporting and reconciliations;

Reporting & payroll analytics

Process Improvement

Payment of payroll tax, PAYG, Superannuation.

Managing internal and external payroll enquiries

Setting up new starters & processing leavers

Job Costing/Reporting/Journals

Liaising with Project Managers

To be successful in the position you will bring the following skills;

Experience as a Manager/Assistant Manager of Accounts/Payroll

Hold a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA)

Experience in end - end payroll for a similar sized business

Experience of working in the Construction/Engineering or similar industries would be advantageous.

Ability to manage different payroll award categories

Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills;

Advanced communication and query skills

Excellent attention to detail

Strong time management and the ability to work autonomously

Ability to perform under pressure in fast paced busy positions

Experience using Jobpac will be highly regarded
