12 month Fixed-Term Contract

Level 1 - $78, 766.54 per annum (incl $20,000 Port Hedland Allowance)

The Role

As the Aquatics & Community Recreation Trainee, you will be responsible for supporting the various functions of the Aquatics Team in conjunction with the completion of a Certificate III in Sport, Aquatics and Recreation.

Your role will include supporting the processing of the Aquatic Operations team administration while gaining experience in the Learn to Swim program, safe pool operations and aquatic supervision. You will work with the team to ensure all program equipment is maintained in a safe and workable condition and assist with the set up and pack down at events such as but not limited to carnivals, swim-meets, programs, external bookings and activities.

This position is based on a fixed-term opportunity of 12 months whilst you complete your Certificate III in Sport, Aquatics and Recreation full time.

To be considered for this Traineeships you require:

  • Completion of Year 12.
  • Confident swimmer.

You will be joining the team at an exciting time as the Town embarks on a culture of change with embracing of a wide range of new technologies, a large capital works program, and a number of other projects that make the Town a desirable place to live and work.

Work Related Requirements

The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:

  • Ability to gain a WA Working with Children Check Card.
  • Ability to gain a Provide First Aid Certificate.
  • Availability to attend in-house Royal Life Saving Society lifeguard training sessions.
  • National Police Clearance
  • Current 'C' class drivers license
  • Rights to work in Australia
