About the role
Tennant Creek Women's Refuge is seeking an experienced Case Worker to join our team in Tennant Creek, Northern Territory. This full-time role will be responsible for providing comprehensive support and case management to women and children residing in our refuge. You will be part of a close-knit team dedicated to empowering and advocating for vulnerable individuals in our local community.
What you'll be doing
Conduct intake assessments and develop personalised support plans for women and children
Provide crisis intervention and emotional support to refuge residents
Assist clients in accessing housing, financial, legal, and other essential services
Advocate on behalf of clients to ensure their rights and needs are met
Collaborate with local service providers and government agencies to coordinate wrap-around support
Maintain accurate client records and case notes
Contribute to the development and review of organisational policies and procedures
What we're looking for
Experience in case management or direct service delivery in the community services sector
Demonstrated understanding of the complex issues facing women and children experiencing homelessness and/or domestic violence
Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across different organisations
Empathetic, non-judgmental and culturally sensitive approach
Current driver's licence and willingness to travel locally as required
Cert 3 in Community Services or equivalent - or willing to obtain
