The Company
Our client is a market-leading retailer and distributor across Australia and New Zealand, specialising in all aspects of women's and men's lifestyle clothing. Managing a diverse portfolio of international and national owned brands, they now operate in more than one thousand stores and continue to grow! Their successful business span across retail, wholesale, franchise partnerships.
The Role
As Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate end-to-end processing of payroll across a portfolio of brands, covering both monthly and fortnightly pay cycles. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will work closely with stakeholders across the business to support day-to-day payroll operations, manage queries, deliver ad-hoc reporting, and implement payroll changes as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurate and timely end-to-end payroll processing for Australia and New Zealand team members.
- Maintain and update payroll data, including data collection and entry.
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Assist with complex calculations, including back-payments, terminations, and leave entitlements.
- Deliver high-level customer service to internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams on payroll-related matters.
- Maintain payroll records, leave balances, sickness, and overtime reports.
- Ad hoc payroll tasks and management-directed projects.

Systems Experience
- Ichris / Chris21 (Payroll system)
- Dayforce Ceridian
- Advanced Excel skills
- AP21
- Microsoft Office Suite

Relevant Experience
- 2.5+ years' experience in payroll, ideally within a high-volume or retail environment.
- Previous experience using Chris21 highly regarded (but not essential).
- Familiarity with time and attendance systems, ideally Dayforce.
- Sound knowledge of Australian Awards (General Retail Award preferred).
- Understanding of superannuation legislation, payroll tax, leave entitlements, workers' compensation, and award interpretation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
