TF Pet Lab Pty Ltd is a pioneer in sustainable pet product manufacturing, operating Australia’s first production lines for plant-based and enzyme-activated cat litter. Our facilities are located in Penrith, NSW and Cootharaba, QLD, with ongoing expansion into Melbourne. Our process converts Australian agricultural waste—such as oat hulls, macadamia shells, and sugarcane pulp—into high-quality cat litter designed for breeders, retail, and automated litter systems.

As a manufacturer serving major retailers (including Woolworths, Pet Circle, Swaggle, Budgetpet Products), our production strategy is centred on process stability, efficiency, and local innovation. We are now seeking a production engineer to help scale and maintain this capability as we localise manufacturing previously dominated by imports.

Position Overview

The Production Engineer will lead and support the daily operation of our cat litter granulation and pelletising lines. Working across multiple machinery types, the role ensures that equipment is tuned, maintained, and performing against efficiency, safety, and product quality targets. This role includes input into plant layout, mechanical fault diagnosis, and production scheduling.

Duties and Responsibilities

● Plan and manage daily operational schedules across granulation, drying, and packaging processes in line with production targets and safety protocols.

● Configure and optimise production lines based on batch-specific raw material characteristics (e.g., moisture levels in oat husk or bagasse).

● Select and adjust tools and equipment across granulators, mixers, sifters, and drying units to maximise efficiency and reduce waste.

● Monitor performance indicators such as yield, run-time, and product conformance to moisture and durability standards.

● Implement and monitor systems to identify and mitigate at-risk behaviours and safety concerns within the plant environment.

● Diagnose mechanical issues, lead fault-finding procedures, and coordinate emergency repairs and preventive maintenance.

● Specify appropriate settings, material inputs, and production tolerances for each cat litter product type, including enzyme-activated variants.

● Supervise production line operators and provide ongoing equipment training.

● Collaborate with QC, R&D, and warehouse teams to improve process flow and inventory coordination.

● Oversee autonomous equipment or fleet systems and identify opportunities to improve productivity and safety in automated production activities.
