About the role

Gladstone Central Medical Centre is seeking an experienced Practice Manager to join our dedicated team. As Practice Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management and smooth operation of our busy General Practice and Skin Cancer Clinic. This is a full-time position based in Gladstone, Queensland.

What you'll be doing

Oversee the day-to-day administration and operations of the medical practice

Manage staff, including recruiting, training, scheduling, and performance management

Ensure compliance with relevant healthcare regulations and industry standards

Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve efficiency and patient experience

Manage the practice's finances, including budgeting, invoicing, and financial reporting

Liaise with healthcare providers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to coordinate care and services

Implement and maintain effective communication channels within the practice

Identify and implement opportunities for growth and continuous improvement

Assist on reception when required

What we're looking for

Substantial experience as a Practice Manager or in a similar healthcare administration role

Excellent knowledge of healthcare regulations, policies, and industry standards

Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders

Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement

Degree or relevant qualification in healthcare administration, business management, or a related field is an advantage.

In-depth knowledge of Medicare item numbers and procedures
