Our client is a FMCG company with a well-known brand. Due to the business growth, they are looking to appoint an Assistant Accountant to join their team in Artarmon.

You need to have at least temporary full work rights (work visa) to be considered for this role. Sponsorship is possible for the right candidate after 18 months of continuous service.

Role Overview: This is a standalone accounting role, and you’ll be the first in-house accountant, reporting directly to the passionate business founder. In this position, you’ll have the opportunity to shape our internal accounting process and contribute to this dynamic and unstructured startup environment.

Job Responsibilities:

Manage end-to-end accounting operations, including payables, receivables, payroll, reconciliation, and journals.

Reconcile daily sales with store managers such as cash and card payments

Processing of fortnight payroll and quarterly superannuation payments and maintaining staff leave records

Management of general ledge and bank reconciliations

Cash flow reporting and forecasting

Stock counts and restocks

Carry out other accounting works as requested by the supervisor

Manage relationships with external stakeholders (clients, suppliers, external accountant, the bank, foreign exchange facility, and ATO).

Skills Required

Minimum 2 years accounting experience, gained either in Australia or overseas

Strong work ethics and stable employment history

Working knowledge of payroll

Intermediate EXCEL Skills are required

Strong communication with good verbal & written skills in English and Chinese

Team player and able to work under pressure & independently

Experience in MYOB preferred

Mandarin speaking
