About the Role

Rainbow Imports Pty Ltd is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our finance team on a full-time basis. Based in Wetherill Park, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the financial operations of our fast-paced import and e-commerce business. Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping functions across the organisation

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in Xero

Process and manage accounts payable and receivable

Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly management reports and financial statements

Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, payment gateways, and inventory transactions

Support payroll processing, superannuation, and employee entitlement calculations

Prepare and lodge BAS, PAYG, and other ATO compliance requirements

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting

Support end-of-month (EOM) and end-of-year (EOY) closing procedures

Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and tax agents

Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial systems and internal controls

Work closely with inventory and operations teams to ensure accurate stock tracking

Provide general administrative and accounting support to management as required

About You

Minimum 2 years' experience in an accounting, assistant accountant, or bookkeeping role

Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (or working towards CPA/CA preferred)

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards

Proficiency in MYOB, Xero, and Microsoft Excel

Experience working in a retail, wholesale, or import/export environment highly regarded

High level of accuracy and attention to detail

Excellent time management and organisational skills

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a small team

Mandarin-speaking preferred, but not essential
