Our client, a well-established retail company, is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their finance team. This full-time, permanent position is based in the Northern Beaches and offers an excellent opportunity for someone eager to enhance their accounting skills.

Your new role

Reporting to the financial accountant, this role involves:

• Processing payments for the business and its subsidiaries
• Reconciliation of stock invoices to purchase orders
• Processing international credit payments, including customs duty, GST, and freight charges
• Performing payment runs and uploading to the bank for authorisation
• Assisting with the preparation of monthly financial accounts, sales/purchase reports, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assisting with year-end reconciliations and audit actions
• Assisting the Accounts Receivable team during periods of high workload or employee leave

What you'll need to succeed

• Previous Assistant Accountant & Accounts Payable experience in a similar position
• Experience in retail/wholesale business (desirable)
• Must have solid experience using the ERP system, PRONTO
• Good interpersonal & communication skills
• High attention to detail and analytical skills
