We are currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Estimator in the commercial roofing space. Our client is a well-established commercial roofing specialist known for delivering high-quality projects across a range of sectors including industrial, education, government, and commercial. Due to ongoing growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their team and lead tendering efforts on a variety of large-scale roofing projects.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full estimating process - from reviewing documentation and preparing cost estimates to coordinating with suppliers and finalising tenders. This is a pivotal role within the business, offering long-term career potential and the chance to work alongside a professional and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for commercial roofing projects (metal, membrane, and re-roofing)

Interpret architectural drawings, engineering specifications, and tender documents

Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing and clarify scope

Identify risks and value-engineering opportunities during the tender phase

Contribute to tender submissions and presentations

Assist with handover to the construction delivery team

Mentor junior estimators as required

Candidate Profile

Minimum 5 years' experience in estimating, ideally within roofing or commercial construction

In-depth knowledge of roofing systems and construction practices

High attention to detail and strong analytical abilities

Proficiency with estimating software such as Buildsoft, Cubit, and Excel

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines

Desirable Qualifications:

Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or related field

Previous experience with both new build and refurbishment commercial roofing projects
