Position Overview
This position is primarily responsible for Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable processing functions for the Group of entities. This is a critical role to the success of the Finance Team and is responsible for all day to day accounting and supporting activities as outlined below.
Key Responsibilities:
ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE:
· Generate invoicing for the month including standard monthly charges invoices
· Daily rent receipting of cash received against invoices
· Assist Property management team with tenant/accounts receivable issues and queries
· Liaise with Leasing team to ensure changes to rent are correctly invoiced each month and new tenants are set up and charged on time
· Updating of bond and tenant deposits and informing Leasing team accordingly
ACCOUNTS PAYABLE:
· Processing a high volume of invoices daily, ensuring invoices are issued to the right company for the right property and are valid tax invoices
· Accurate coding of expenses in to the general ledger
· Payment of all suppliers within trading terms on a fortnightly basis
· Ensuring all invoices are processed within the agreed corporate governance structure
· Uploading and setting up payments to the bank
· Keeping supplier details, contacts and bank account details up to date
· Adding new suppliers to the system
OTHER WORK:
· Responsible for safe keeping of chequebooks, guarantees and other important documents in the storage cabinets and safe
· Perform monthly credit card and petty cash reconciliations and provide daily bank account balances to the senior management
· Ad hoc personal bank accounts transactional assistance to the Board and attendance to queries when required
· Processing staff reimbursements on a monthly basis
· Assisting the Accountants with monthly standard journals for payroll, tax and BAS/IAS lodged
· Correspondence with the bank on all Group entities requests such as bank cheques, transfers etc
Competencies and Experience required
Knowledge/Skills
· Previous experience in a similar data processing role (ideally 1 year or demonstrated knowledge and skills to meet the requirements of the role).
· Knowledge of general accounting principles statutory reporting and payroll requirements
· Previous experience with accounting software, MRI, Progen, MYOB EXO or XERO is highly preferred
· Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word and Excel)
