Sandhurst Fine Foods is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Mechanical Engineer Technician to join our head office team in Miranda to support the day-to-day activities related to equipment maintenance, servicing, and repair within the production and warehouse.

Reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager, and working within a small team, responsibilities of this role include:

The successful candidate will have the following:

Experience in collaborating with the QA team to assist in maintaining quality control procedures related to equipment use, waste disposal, and product handling.

Responsibility of coordinating raw materials, spare parts, tools, and consumables required for equipment maintenance and production support.

Ensuring comprehensive review and monitor compliance with technical work systems and safety maintenance procedures, ensuring adherence to EHS and OH&S standards.

The ability to carry out and support planned and preventative maintenance tasks, including mechanical inspections, lubrication, parts replacement, and system adjustments.

Experience in monitoring and supporting the day-to-day activities related to equipment maintenance, servicing, and repair within the production and warehouse environment.

Responsibility of performing required hands-on mechanical repairs and general maintenance of equipment, while also coordinating or overseeing external service contractors when required.

Experience in managing a maintenance team to reduce machine downtime and prevent repetitive faults, contributing to plant reliability and availability and the ability to maintain a preventative maintenance program.

Leadership experience in supporting and promoting continuous improvement initiatives and cost savings.

Assist in the development and documentation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintenance work instructions.

Support training and upskilling of junior technical staff, providing guidance on maintenance procedures and safe equipment handling

To be successful in this role you must have:

Diploma in engineering and/or technical background in a FMCG environment or similar

Minimum of 2 years experience in technical and hands-on mechanical repairs and general maintenance of equipment

Demonstrated experience in auditing and devising new maintenance processes.

Demonstrated experience with training of staff and staff management.

Strong verbal and communication skills

Good understanding of OHS (safe work practices)

Forklift licence (desirable)
