The Site HR Administrator is responsible for overseeing and supporting all human resource functions on the project site, ensuring HR activities are aligned with project objectives, Australian labor laws, and company policies. As the primary point of contact for employees on HR-related matters, you will foster a positive, productive, and compliant work environment. You will ensure adherence to industrial relations legislation, manage employee relations, support workforce development through training programs, and coordinate initiatives related to safety, well-being, and conflict resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the initial point of contact for employees on-site for any HR-related questions, concerns, or requests.
- Lead industrial risk mitigation and coordinate emergency responses to workplace incidents with the HSE and IR teams.
- Create a positive and productive work environment by promoting employee engagement and addressing workplace issues quickly and professionally.
- Ensure all HR activities comply with Australian labor laws and Voith Hydro’s internal policies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local regulations affecting employment, health and safety, and industrial relations.
- Provide HR/IR advice to ensure compliance with industrial legislation, awards, and enterprise agreements for employees.
- Maintain accurate HR records and prepare reports on staffing, attendance, and other HR metrics.
- Coordinate site-specific inductions, ensuring employees are aware of safety policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the Health and Safety team to ensure HR policies align with on-site safety protocols and promote employee health and well-being.
- Coordinate site-specific inductions and facilitate relevant programs to support employee development.
- Support and manage work-related injuries and incidents, ensuring proper documentation is completed.
- Oversee counseling, discipline, probation, return-to-work programs.
- Maintain accurate HR records, including training and incident documentation, and assist with HR-related documentation for internal and external reviews.
- Assist with audits and prepare HR-related documentation for internal and external reviews.
- Handle sensitive information with discretion, maintaining confidentiality and upholding ethical standards in all HR practices.
Qualification
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management, Employment Relations, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
- Certifications in Workplace Health and Safety (e.g., White Card) preferred.
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in HR roles, ideally within the construction or infrastructure sectors.
Skills Requirements
- Strong knowledge of the Fair Work Act and construction industry HR dynamics, including safety protocols.
- Expertise in HR trends, legislation, and industry standards.
- Experience with HR management systems for tracking employee records, timesheets, and data.
- Skilled in mediating disputes, negotiating, and maintaining workplace harmony.
- Strong problem-solving skills to resolve HR challenges and conflicts effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, across all levels.
- Proficient in managing administrative HR tasks (timesheets, attendance, record-keeping).
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced, construction-site environment.
