About the role:
As a key member of the team, you will be providing cyber security leadership, governance, policy and standards, advocacy, capability development, security incident co-ordination as well as managing several security services.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving large-scale security projects, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and effectively mitigating security risks. This role requires a proactive approach to security, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Must have experience include:

• Proven experience managing and delivering complex IT and cybersecurity projects (end-to-end)
• Strong background in network security, remote access technologies, cloud, and 5G security
• Understanding of the ACSC Essential Eight and its application in enterprise environments
• Experience with tools such as SailPoint, Privileged Access Management, Access Control, Zero Trust, SOC, and Endpoint Security
• Familiarity with agile and hybrid project methodologies
• Technical literacy in networking or infrastructure (advantageous)
• Demonstrated success delivering within tight timelines and budget constraints
• Strong financial, procurement and commercial management capabilities
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Experience using Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Visio, and Microsoft Project
• Strong facilitation skills, particularly when engaging senior stakeholders and executives

The following experience will be highly regarded:

• Experience working in Government environments or providing services to Government agencies.
• Experience in leading Cyber Security initiatives including Security Operations Centre establishment, Supply Chain Risk Management, OT & IoT and other Cyber Security Uplift initiatives, within large-scale and/or complex enterprise environments.
• Experience with Gateway infrastructure, Privileged Identity Management and/or Cloud Security.
• Familiarity with public sector cybersecurity frameworks, such as the ACSC Essential Eight, ISM, or international standards (e.g., NIST CSF) and frameworks (e.g. SOC-CMM, MITRE ATTACK).
