We are working with a large QLD Govt Department to source an experienced Principal Project Manager to manage a large scale, complex cyber security project. The Cyber Security Program is responsible for delivering information security solutions to support modern delivery. The program addresses the evolving landscape and the ever-changing cyber security threat environment to drive the security uplift and posture for the organisation. This is an initial six month contract with extension possible. We are looking for candidates who are ideally based in Brisbane, there is WFH flexibility however you will also need to attend the offices in the city fringe.

Key responsibilities include:

Manage the definition, documentation and successful completion of a large scale, complex project in line with our client’s project management methodologies

Promote and ensure use of appropriate project management techniques, methodologies and tools, including benefits realisation and risk and issue management, to ensure quality project outcomes are delivered

Manage, monitor and report on project related trends and performance against project plans and schedules

Manage and monitor resources, expenses and capital costs against the forecasts

Initiate, influence and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, facilitate effective communication channels to promote the successful adoption of change within the business

Manage capability and develop resources by leading and mentoring multi-disciplinary project team(s).

Ideally, we are looking for someone who can bring the following wealth of experience to this role:

Proven experience in the management of a large scale, complex cyber security projects, preferably in the Identity and Access Management, Privileged Access Management, Cloud Technologies, Network Security, Secure Web Gateways and general security knowledge domain and with particular knowledge of the Australian Cyber Security Centre Essential Eight

Experience in stakeholder relationship management to support effective business change, including the ability to initiate relationships and influence key stakeholders

Understanding and application of appropriate project management methodologies (preferably PRINCE2), and an ability to promote and provide advice on the use of appropriate project management techniques, methodologies and tools

High level negotiation, consultation, facilitation and effective communication

Experience in leading, managing and mentoring a multi-disciplinary team

Analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a team environment developing effective working relationships with team members
