About the role

Kotara Specialist Suites is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Medical Receptionist to join our team on a part-time basis. This role will be based in our premises in Kotara, Newcastle. You will be responsible for providing exceptional administrative and customer service support to our specialist medical practice. This role is ideal for someone ready to take the next step in their medical administration career and who enjoys working in a busy, team-focused environment. Our practice is modern, paperless, and always looking for ways to improve efficiency through smart systems and technology. What you'll be doing

Greeting and welcoming patients in a friendly and professional manner

Scheduling and managing patient appointments

Answering and screening incoming phone calls

Handling patient inquiries and providing information about our services

Maintaining accurate patient records and medical files

Medical billing

Ensuring the reception area is well-organised and clean

Providing administrative support to the clinical team as required

What we're looking for

Previous experience as a medical receptionist

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with patients, medical staff, and other stakeholders

Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to multitask

Proficient in using medical practice management software and standard office applications

Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is highly desirable

A warm, friendly, and professional demeanour with a commitment to providing high-quality customer service
