Who we are
“Thiyama-li” means to rise up in Gamilaroi. We help Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, children and men who experience domestic/family violence or sexual assault. Thiyama-li is committed to providing quality Family Violence Prevention and Legal Services (FVPLS) that are:
· Culturally appropriate
· Accessible
· Equitable and
· Non-judgmental.
Through our advocacy and community development we also aim to establish an understanding that family violence and sexual assault in any form is not acceptable behavior and is not part of Aboriginal culture. This includes:
· Providing legal assistance to victims of family violence and sexual assault
· Increase recognition of the problem of family violence and other forms of violence in Aboriginal communities through education
· Identify barriers and to lobby for improved services for Indigenous people.

Where we are
Our Head office is in Moree and we also have office locations in Walgett and Bourke. Our teams also deliver outreach to surrounding areas.
Ideal candidate
We are looking for a tech savvy EA who has proven capacity to support a busy CEO.
Ready to hit the ground running.
Willing and able to work-onsite is preferred (although flexible work including hybrid or WFH can be considered for the successful candidate)
What we offer
· Permanent part-time role, 35 hours per week, 9 - 5
· Salary circa $85,000 per annum + superannuation under SCHADS Industry Award 2010 – level dependent on qualifications and experience.

Essential Criteria
1. An understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities and the issues that they face.
2. Commitment to social justice and an understanding of and/or experience working with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs).
3. An understanding of and interest in Domestic and Family Violence Prevention and the legal system relevant to the work undertaken by Thiyama-li FVPLS.
4. Well-developed organisational and time management skills, and a proven ability to multitask and prioritise and manage workload deadlines.
5. Comfort and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, including working with the Board of Directors.
6. Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, and ability to produce documents and reports of a high standard.
7. High level of MS Office document management and technical skills including experience and proficiency in using Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
8. Ability to maintain a high level of professional discretion managing confidentiality.
9. Current Class C Drivers Unrestricted NSW Drivers Licence.
10. Willing to travel to communities within the service area of Thiyama-li FVPLS when required.
Preferred Criteria
1. This is a targeted role; Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply.
2. Experience in accreditation and the delivery and implementation of continuous improvement strategies within a complex organisation.
3. Familiarity with ActionStep or other database systems.
4. Willing and able to work on site (hybrid, remote and flexible work arrangements may be considered for the right candidate).
