The job
The General Manager of Wilson is responsible for defining our future direction and furthering our growth. You will lead and manage the entire business across all divisions covering engineering, procurement, manufacturing, sales, people, finance and administration. A highly competent and longstanding management team provide the specialisation and foundations to support your vision.
You will be responsible for shaping the work and business environment, maintaining commercial and operational resilience and providing opportunities to scale across all business functions such as customers, suppliers, employees, performance, markets and finance. Your journey starts with adopting everything that is already great about Wilson Industries.
Some of your deliverables will be to:
Take a leadership and oversight role in key account management and sales.
Design the strategy and set goals for achieving sustainable business growth.
Oversee day-to-day operations and supply chain.
Develop the annual budget and manage OPEX, CAPEX, P&L and Cash Flow.
Drive continuous improvement with a focus on quality and service standards.
Ensure regulatory and internal compliance.
Identify and source new products and potential acquisitions.
Foster supplier relations.
Your transition into Wilson Industries will be supported by the incumbent General Manager of 19 years, who is making a sea change.
About you
We are looking for someone with the passion and desire to adopt an existing successful business and take it to new heights, someone who likes to create and pursue opportunities.
You must have operational management and experience, a strong sales focus, and a natural ability to support your team so they thrive. Experience managing an industrial manufacturing business at a State or National level is essential. Exposure to hydronic environments will be beneficial but not essential. Sales and Financial acumen are mandatory, and aligned academic qualifications will be advantageous.
You must have a confident and positive outlook and enjoy working in a diverse and inclusive environment. It will involve occasional travel. This position is based in our recently acquired and developed Bayswater site of 10,000 sq. metres, of which 5250 sq. metres is under the roof housing our modern manufacturing plant, warehousing and offices.
