About the role: As the Regional Program Coordinator (Gunaikurnai), you'll provide leadership in supporting Joint Management partnerships between Parks Victoria and the Gunaikurnai Land and Waters Aboriginal Corporation (GLaWAC). This role involves coordinating implementation of Joint Management functions, providing strategic guidance, supporting management planning, and leading priority projects that respect Traditional Owner aspirations while conserving natural and cultural values in Eastern Victoria.

About the Team: We are a dedicated Regional Operations team based in Eastern Victoria, responsible for delivering park management services across diverse landscapes. Our team implements on-ground works that conserve environments, protect cultural heritage, and enhance visitor experiences in partnership with Traditional Owners. We pride ourselves on our collaborative approach, working with various stakeholders to achieve environmental, social, and economic outcomes for rural and regional communities. As part of our team, you'll contribute to innovative conservation practices while supporting meaningful relationships with the Gunaikurnai people.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Experience in engaging with Traditional Owner groups and building strong stakeholder relationships
  • Understanding of Joint Management agreements from strategy through to delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple complex projects
  • High-level judgment and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Experience providing expert advice on Traditional Owner relations and Joint Management agreements
