About the Opportunity
The position is office-based in Parramatta with the potential for flexible work arrangements subject to negotiation.
Reporting directly to the Strategic Development Manager, you will contribute to Birribee Housing's strategic objectives by assisting with the development, maintenance and implementation of a range of documents from tender documentation, policies and procedures, annual report content, internal and external communication materials and registers.
You are a skilled and thorough researcher and enjoy documenting and presenting the results of your work both in writing and verbally. You have well developed interpersonal skills and can communicate at all levels of an organisation, adjusting your approach to reflect your audience. You are respected for your written communication skills and have pay close attention to detail. You have the ability for self-reflection and appreciate the opportunity feedback presents for growth and continuous learning. You enjoy working independently and as part of a team.
You have tertiary qualifications in the humanities, social sciences or equivalent and may be a recent graduate.
Key areas of responsibility
· Supporting all stages of the organisation’s strategic and business planning activities including reporting to the CEO and Board.
· Assisting with the coordination and preparation of tenders and submissions for funding from government and other external bodies.
· Contributing to the development of organisational policies and procedures.
· Assisting with the development and distribution of internal and external communications including social media.
· Assisting with annual reporting and compliance functions including the achievement and maintenance of accreditation as a community housing provider.
· Undertaking desktop and other qualitative and quantitative research to support growth and other organisational initiatives.
· Maintaining registers necessary for business development and other activities.
Essential criteria

· Knowledge and awareness of cultural practices, values, and historical and contemporary issues that affect First Nation’s peoples in Australia today.
· Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
· Effective skills in desktop and other qualitative and quantitative research and a demonstrated ability to communicate the results clearly and concisely to a range of audiences both in writing and orally.
· Demonstrated ability to manage competing demands, prioritise and meet deadlines.
· Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a positive member of a high performing team with an ability to self-reflect and a commitment to continuous learning.
· Proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office and general office software.
· Familiarity with a range of social media.
· Tertiary qualifications in the humanities, social sciences and related disciplines at a graduate level.
You will also need:
· A valid National Police Check (less than six (6) months old)
