The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Manager to join our team based at our exciting state of the art Edinburgh site. The position is available for the right candidate to commence immediately!

The Site Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Truss Plant and Wall Line Production and Distribution Centre, maximizing truss production and timber pick output, and aligning them with the logistics arm of the business. You must prioritize safety, optimize site functions for quality and consistency, and inspire a safe and practical work environment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Drive an improved safety culture and hold leaders and team members accountable. Safety must be at the forefront of everything we do!

Drive output and quality, ensuring we are servicing our customers with on time and in full product

Oversee Production Managers and Supervisors to achieve output and quality goals

Be at the forefront of managing people, including team member lifecycle processes, as well as proactively dealing with grievances or team member queries

Keeping team members up to date with safety training and procedures, coupled with proactive communication

Provide leadership and mentorship to senior production and picking teams.

Setting expectations and holding people accountable through informal and formal performance management processes

Constantly reviewing manning levels across the site and ensuring the optimum levels to run the plant efficiently.

Role-modelling customer service standards by dealing with customer concerns in a timely manner

Ensuring accuracy and consistency in plant and picking operations

Liaising with Transport, Design, Production Managers, and Sales/Service team for alignment

Setting site budgets in conjunction with the K & B Leadership team and ensure targets are met

Leading site projects for all capital upgrades in conjunction with key stakeholders internally and externally

This role would ideally suit someone with the below skills and attributes:

Proven experience in a Senior Leadership role within the manufacturing or building industry

Proven experience in driving high level output and quality product

Proven experience in effectively managing a large team

Experience in leading teams and proven ability to monitor, mentor and assist team members in their development journey.

Proficient in scheduling medium to large production facilities

Ability to prioritise and multi-task priorities whilst working in a fast-paced environment.

A continuous improvement mindset

Proven Project and Change Management capabilities

Strong communication skills (both verbally and written) with the ability to negotiate successful outcomes.
