The role exists due to the current PM being seconded to a project.

This would suit an seasoned Payroll Manager who has previously had experienced working for large and complex payroll departments and organisations.

NUTS & BOLTS:

• Utilise performance metrics, benchmarks, and service level agreements to ensure the delivery of high quality, efficient and effective payroll services
• Lead a team of 7, responsible for managing and executing the fortnightly payroll, fostering a high-performing and collaborative team environment
• Mentor and support the team, promoting continuous professional development, capability uplift, and operational efficiency
• Monitor and assess processes through the utilisation of tools and systems, implementing corrective actions accordingly
• Serve as a point of escalation and technical expertise to resolve complex payroll matters, ensuring compliance and accurate advice to the team and stakeholders
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimise payroll processes, systems, and service delivery, leveraging innovative technologies and practices
• Maintain payroll governance, ensuring proper approvals and documentation in accordance with organisational policies and procedures
• Formulate stakeholder engagement strategies to align expectations, enhance service satisfaction, and foster cross-functional collaboration
• Manage work area reporting and legislative compliance, ensuring data accuracy within systems and alignment with work area standards
• Optimise resource utilisation, including financial, people, production, and technology resources, to ensure the continuous delivery of work area services
• Manage the performance and development of staff, including performance review, professional development and career management
• Manage risk and workplace health and safety within the work area and ensure a safe working environment and compliance with policies and procedures
