An exciting opportunity has arrived to become a member of the Licensing Branch in the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation, Harm Prevention and Regulation, DJAG as an AO5 Senior Licensing Officer.

As a Senior Licensing Officer, you will lead a small team of AO2 - AO4 staff to deliver licensing services for the Liquor and Gaming industries. Your role provides for the supervision of a team who provide responsive licensing services that balance public need and harm minimisation with industry development.

You will contribute by:

• providing support to the Licensing Managers; and
• Assisting to lead a team to achieve flexible, streamlined and efficient licensing services.

To successfully undertake this role, you will need to have a strong customer focus, strong ability to work under pressure and be highly motivated and focused on delivering outcomes.

Your key responsibilities:

• Leading, developing and mentoring staff AO2 - AO4 level staff within a team to meet work outcomes, including the achievement and improvement of performance indicators.
• Liaising with and providing advice to industry, community groups, legal representatives and government agencies, including interstate and overseas regulators.
• ability to rapidly develop detailed knowledge of process, workflows and regulatory practices, with the ability to interpret and apply legislation.
• reads and comprehends technical or legal documents.
• contributes to workplace equity, diversity and inclusion that enriches our culture of respect and inclusion.
• works on multiple projects simultaneously and adjusts priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.
• establishes and maintain working relationships with team and internal and external stakeholders.
• evaluates performance of team members
• Assessing and providing guidance to staff in relation to complex applications and regulatory matters captured under the legislation administered by OLGR.
