The Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage (DPLH) is seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Senior Geospatial Web Integration Officer & Senior Web Map Services Officer to join our Data Analytics team.

About the Roles:

In both roles, your work will support the DPLH and the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) by delivering high-quality geospatial web-based products to both internal and external stakeholders. You will be the technical expert in your field, enabling informed decision-making through effective use of geospatial data and risk understanding As a Senior Geospatial Web Integration Officer, you will play a crucial role in managing and developing web visualisations and Geographic Information System (GIS) products.

As the Senior Web Map Services Officer, you will be responsible for the effective development, support and maintenance of contemporary, responsive and fit for purpose geospatial web-enabled products, services and applications in support of the Department’s (DPLH) work program.

We would like to hear from you if you have experience as a Geospatial Information Specialist, GIS Integrations Officer, Senior Geospatial Consultant or Senior GIS Software Engineer. We have two (2) Permanent full-time positions for immediate filling. This process may be used to fill future similar permanent or fixed-term positions that may arise within the Department and across the WA public sector in the next 12 months from the initial date of appointment.

Located in Perth CBD in a convenient location, above the Perth Underground rail; close to the Wellington Street Bus Station and City CAT services.

To be successful for this position, you need to demonstrate:

For Senior Geospatial Web Integration Officer:

  • Considerable experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and management of geospatial data.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of developing and managing GIS Web Visualisations, preferably within an Esri ArcGIS Enterprise and/or Microsoft environment.
  • High level written and communication skills, with the ability to produce procedural documentation and provide training.

For Senior Web Map Services Officer:

  • Considerable experience within a Geographic Information System (GIS) and Web Map Services team environment.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Web Map administration including GIS desktop and web map applications, preferably within an Esri ArcGIS Enterprise and/or Geocortex/VertiGIS Studio environment.
  • High level written and communication skills, with the ability to produce procedural documentation and provide training.

These roles demonstrate the behaviours within the leadership context of Personal Leadership.
