We are seeking highly capable senior project officers to join our team supporting the delivery of the substantial infrastructure development portfolio for North Metropolitan Health Service (NMHS).

We anticipate multiple vacancies for Fixed Term appointment for up to 24 months, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency, at hours from Full-time (76 hrs / fortnight) to Part-Time minimum 0.5FTE (minimum 38 hrs / fortnight).

What is our Senior Project Officer role?

Reporting to the Redevelopment Project Coordinator, the Senior Project Officer supports the delivery of infrastructure projects for NMHS.

In this role, you will provide high-level support and project management in the development of project management activities throughout planning, construction and commissioning. As part of the project team, support the development of detailed project documentation, including risk management; and undertake significant stakeholder management activities.

NMHS Infrastructure Development is responsible for the planning, development, and delivery of health infrastructure projects to provide contemporary and fit for purpose healthcare facilities for staff and consumers. Infrastructure Development deliver projects under two programs, being the Capital Works Program and Minor Works Program.

The team collaborate with Department of Finance Building and Contracts as well as the Department of Health Major Health Projects and Infrastructure Unit to manage projects throughout each phase, including:

  • Concept Initiation
  • Concept Development
  • Project Definition (Planning)
  • Project Commencement and Design (Initiation)
  • Project Delivery (Implementation)
  • Project Close Out and Evaluation (Practical Completion)

In partnership with a wider group of NMHS stakeholders, Infrastructure Development are also responsible for strategic planning for utilisation of existing assets, new investments and non-asset initiatives so that NMHS can deliver services which support current and future demands.

Eligibility to Apply: Australian citizenship or permanent residency is an essential requirement for applicants to be considered for permanent positions in the public sector. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
