About Us
Woods Group are a well-established family-owned group of companies based in Queensland. We grow, process and supply quality Australian-grown seeds, grains, pulses, stock feeds and food products from the highly productive and premium growing regions of southern Queensland and northern New South Wales.
We are seeking a qualified and suitably experienced Accountant to support our Group Accountant with the management of the finance and accounting functions for all entities across the group.
This role will suit a graduate accountant with 2 to 4 years industry experience. The successful candidate will relish a hands-on role in a challenging and complex environment.
About the Role
Based in Brisbane and reporting to the Group Accountant, this hands-on role will be responsible for:
Supporting the finance and accounting function to ensure accuracy and compliance to accounting standards;
Preparing and submitting BAS returns for all group entities;
Working through the monthly workpapers for all entities;
Routine Bank Reconciliations for selected group entities;
Administering the Accounts Payable and Receivable functions for certain group entities;
Monthly reconciliation reports for the group;
Assisting the Group Accountant with Company secretarial duties;
Preparing and co-ordinating bank ABA files for all group entities;
Assisting monthly management and financial reporting tasks;
Assisting with yearly external & internal audits;
Ad-hoc projects and business administration as and when required;
Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with on-site operations and administration staff.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following qualifications, skills and experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Accounting or working towards this;
CA or CPA Membership or working towards this;
2 Years Industry Experience
Specific experience in administering
Accounts Receivable and Payments
Bank, General Ledger and Balance Sheet Reconciliations
BAS Preparation and Submission
General Ledger Processing and entry
End of Month/Year Processes
A working knowledge of MYOB or similar accounting software;
Excellent computer skills (MS Outlook, Word and Excel);
Company secretarial support;
Experience within a large, family-owned business would be an advantage.
