The De Jong Group is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and a passion for numbers.

This is an incredible opportunity for a candidate who has either recently graduated from a relevant degree or currently working towards a qualification in the accounting industry.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The ideal candidate will support the Chief Financial Officer to prepare financial statements and reports. The Assistant Accountant is responsible for preparing accurate, timely and error-free accounts in collaboration with the accounting team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with day-to-day accounting tasks

• Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers

• Support month-end and year-end processes

• Assist in the preparation of financial reports and budgets

• Reconcile statements and monitor cash flow

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

The Assistant Accountant will be a self-motivated worker with a strong attention to detail. To be successful in the role you will have:

• Demonstrated experience in providing accurate accounting support.

• The ability to produce accurate financial reports within strict time constraints.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a wider team.

• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to integrate complex information from multiple sources.

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
