Independent Building Advice
Posted 22 days ago
Are you passionate about building and renovating homes and believe people should enjoy the experience, but get frustrated when that’s often not the case? Want to do something about it? If so, read on… because this role is right up your alley.
At Independent Building Advice, we work independently of builders, providing homeowners with accurate advice on designing great homes, identifying hidden costs and delays, selecting the right builder, and ultimately reducing stress and headaches. We are client-centric, offering unbiased guidance and support from concept to completion.
About the Role
This is a permanent part-time position (20 hours per week) based in our Subiaco office, with the potential to grow. You’ll be:
Proactively oversee builders and clients progress through their systems, managing the client experience and ensuring the jobs is moving forward in a timely manner
Submitting paperwork and tracking project progress across multiple builders
Liaising with builders staff, shires, internal sales people, and clients
Spotting issues early and either solving them or escalating if required
Updating our CRM and managing client communication and expectations
Supporting the director with occasional admin tasks
Note: each builder will have their own systems and client liaison, you are not doing their job but just making sure they are on the ball
What We’re Looking For
Minimum 3 years’ experience in the building or residential construction industry. This could be client liaison, interior designer, draft person or shire liaison or other
Confident, proactive communicator, phone, email, text and face-to-face
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Calm under pressure and good at finding solutions
Comfortable navigating builder processes and paperwork
Someone who genuinely cares about the client experience
Enjoy a laugh in the office and working with others
Why This Role?
This is not just another admin job. You’ll be actively improving the way people experience the building process, keeping things moving, reducing stress, and giving clients the clarity they need.
At Independent Building Advice, we work for the client, not the builder. We guide people through the entire process: smart design, builder selection, and construction support, always in the client’s best interest.
Flexible office based hours: some times are required, other hours can be worked flexibly across the week. Happy to discuss and work out a mutually beneficial arrangement.
Salary will reflect experience, with a guide of $40,500–$45,000 for 20 hours per week (pro rata full-time equivalent).
If you’re ready to help fix what’s broken in the building industry and want to work with a team that really gives a damn, apply now.
How to Apply
We appreciate all applications; however, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
If you’re passionate about guiding homeowners through their building or renovation journey and want the flexibility to work independently, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today!
