Our client is a multi-Franchise New Vehicle Dealership with a high-volume dedicated Service Centre, providing all levels of servicing for their brands.

We are currently seeking a motivated hands-on Operational Service Manager to oversee a talented team of technicians, service advisors and support staff in their service centre, located in Townsville, North Queensland. Catering for high volume and prestige brands with a through put of more than 150 cars per day.
You will be directly supported by an Assistant Service Manager, Warranty Administrator, Workshop Controller, Workshop Foreman along with more than 50 technicians/apprentices and ancillary staff. With a strong commitment to staff training in areas requiring technical certification and skills development this role demands a Service Manager with the experience in achieving factory KPI's along with controlling costs and exceeding company budgets.
With a greater focus on the customer experience from manufacturers, meeting critical benchmarks in this area is all important to ensure manufactures targets and KPI's are meant consistently.
About the role.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day service operation with a mix of high volume and prestige brands operating out of their purpose-built service facility.
This role will challenge you to innovate and transform traditional service methods by implementing new systems and processes alongside current service activities.
To achieve this, you will require excellent team leadership skills with an understanding of the importance of creating a work environment that focuses on best practice 100% of the time
Constantly monitoring key pressure areas within the service department like WIP, Efficiency, Productivity, Fix Right the First Time, Revenue per Tech, Customer Wait Times, Warranty claims processing, Gross profit, Staff retention, Customer retention and more. While being proactive with strategies to control expenses, with an eye always on the expectations set by the manufactures to achieve NPS/CSI scores that in turn create a customer experience that is second to none.
With the ability to control costs while growing profitability across the service department. An emphasis on regular reporting and accountability is required, as you work closely with the management team and report to the Group Fixed Operations Manager to build a bigger and better ‘next generation’ service offering.
ABOUT YOU
Above all else, you are ready for a fast-paced career as a professional Service Manager looking to grow your career into more senior roles as the opportunities present themselves.
Currently, working in automotive retail, with at least 5 years’ experience in a similar sized role.
High level of computer literacy with experience using Microsoft Office and Dealer Management Systems
Excellent communication both written and verbal
Proven history of delivering exceptional customer experience and customer engagement.
With a successful past of developing a strong and focused team committed to continual improvement and long-term dealership growth.
Exceptional Training, Coaching and Mentoring skills that builds a resilient team.

With over 50 Techs and apprentices plus support staff at your disposal this is a high-volume operation.
A very attractive remuneration package with an outstanding performance-based incentive scheme is on offer and will be discussed with the successful candidate with some flexibility around the split of retainer and performance-based incentives. This package would see On Target Earnings in excess of $180000 plus Super per year for a high performance Service Manager.
Plus, the added benefit of an income guarantee for the first 3 months. Along with a fully maintained company car, fuel, and laptop will be provided.
Relocation assistance would be considered with the successful applicant.
Hours of work: Mon-Fri 7.30am to 6.00pm
