The Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Hands-On Project Manager to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive individual with a strong operational background in the restaurant, retail, or hospitality industry to leverage their experience in planning, organizing, and executing key projects that will directly impact our business success.
You will be responsible for managing projects from initiation through to successful completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role requires a "roll-up-your-sleeves" approach, combining strategic oversight with the ability to dive into the details and drive execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Lifecycle Management: Manage the entire project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling, and closure.
- Project Delivery: Manage end to end delivery across all types of project requirements such as Technology Led, Business, Operations or process.
- Planning and Scope Definition: Collaborate with stakeholders to clearly define project objectives, scope, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.
- Task Management and Coordination: Break down projects into manageable tasks, assign responsibilities, and track progress effectively.
- Schedule and Budget Management: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and budgets, proactively identifying and managing potential risks and deviations.
- Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with all project stakeholders, including internal teams, external vendors, and leadership. Provide regular updates on project status, risks, and issues.
- Problem Solving and Issue Resolution: Identify and proactively address project challenges, risks, and issues, developing and implementing effective solutions in a timely manner.
- Resource Management: Coordinate and manage project resources, including personnel, budget, and equipment, ensuring efficient utilization.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure project deliverables meet the required quality standards and specifications.
- Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, schedules, risk logs, status reports, and lessons learned.
- Hands-On Involvement: Be prepared to get involved in the operational aspects of projects, leveraging your industry experience to understand challenges and contribute to practical solutions.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement within project management methodologies and contribute to the development of best practices.
- Vendor Management (as needed): Manage relationships with external vendors and suppliers, ensuring they deliver according to agreed-upon terms.
Ideally, you will have:
- Proven experience in a hands-on Project Management role, ideally within a similar industry such as restaurant, retail, or hospitality.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proactive and results-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in project management principles and tools.
- A "can-do" attitude and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and contribute at all levels.
- Understanding of the retail/restaurant industry is highly advantageous such as store rollouts, POS systems, inventory management software etc.
- Formal project management certification (e.g., CAPM, PMP) is a plus but not always required, depending on experience.
