The Role

You will be the leader of a small team and you will also be responsible for the Accounting and Payroll administration duties.

This unique position combines responsibilities in both accounting and human resources, offering an exciting opportunity for a versatile professional.

Reporting directly to the General Manager you will be responsible for maintaining not just the quality of work, but for the culture and team in line with the company values.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be required to work efficiently and diligently in a professional environment and will need a strong work ethic and the ability to multitask to meet strict deadlines.

Oversee daily accounting operations, including month-end close processes, financial reporting, account reconciliations and accounts receivable

Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and resolution of discrepancies

Support budgeting and forecasting activities

Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations processes

Administer payroll and maintain accurate employee records

Assist in performance management and training initiatives

Supervise and mentor staff in accounting functions

Implement and maintain efficient workflows the department

Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and employment regulations

Collaborate with senior management to drive continuous improvement in finance and payroll processes

Qualifications & Experience

Tertiary qualification in accounting

Prior experience in a similar role preferred

Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards

Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Excel and financial software, QuickBooks experience is preferable.

High level of attention to detail

High regard and respect for confidentiality and discretion

Initiative and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication (written and spoken) and interpersonal skills

Ability to self-manage, and lead a small integrated and dynamic team

Ability to multi-task, work within deadlines and under pressure.

Professional presentation and ability to communicate with a diverse range of cultures.

Flexibility is required with the ability to work alternate or additional hours when required
