An excellent opportunity has arisen for a company accountant / payroll role

The Company Accountant / Payroll role at Australian Butter Factory' is a full-time position based in Somerton, VIC. In this key role, you will be responsible for preparing financial statements, stock reports, forecasting and overseeing the payroll function to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee wages and entitlements.

What you'll be doing

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, reporting, forecasting, payroll and payables, stock and sales reporting

Preparing monthly and annual financial statements, assisting the external accounting firm.

Overseeing the payroll function, including processing employee timesheets, calculating wages and entitlements, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations

Providing financial analysis and reporting to support the company's decision-making processes

Liaising with external auditors and regulatory bodies as required

Continuously improving financial processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy

Weekly and monthly reporting

analysing stock / stock reports

What we're looking for

Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance, with a CPA or CA designation

Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar financial accounting and payroll management role, preferably within a manufacturing or FMCG environment

XERO experience

Strong understanding of financial accounting principles, payroll legislation, and compliance requirements

Proficient in the use of accounting software and financial reporting tools

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide meaningful insights

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and compliance

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
