My client is seeking an Assistant Accountant supporting month end reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, managing and processing payroll, accurate processing of accounts payable, purchase orders and data management. This position is based in Essendon full-time position with 5 weeks Annual Leave.

Role will involve:

Payroll processing prepare and process the monthly payroll

Maintain Organisational Charts and staff within Payroll system including work patterns, FTE, salary scales, approvals and changing roles, and creating new positions as needed

Work with the HR Team to ensure the smooth onboarding of new staff

Provide support for staff enquiries in regards to Payroll

Process monthly Payroll journals and reconcile Payroll deductions including Staff deductions eg. Salary Sacrifice deductions.

Accounts Payable produce creditor payment batches

Reconcile creditor statements and perform data entry to maintain assets register

Post month end journals and account reconciliations

Prepare and reconcile balance sheet accounts

Prepare profit and loss accounts reconciliations

Perform other duties as requested

To be successful, you must have:

Strong payroll skills

Excellent communication skills - verbal and written

Excellent time management

Be detail focused

Proficient with payroll software Access MicrOpay
