at Axe & Golf — Townsville’s home of sharp throws, smooth swings, and chilled vibes

We’ve recently levelled up. What was once Axe & Grind is now Axe & Golf — an epic fusion of axe throwing, golf simulators, and good times. We’ve got 7 axe lanes, 2 state-of-the-art golf sims, a café, and yep — a newly minted liquor license (cheers to that).

Now we’re looking for a Venue Manager with an Admin brain and a creative spark to help run the show.

THE ROLE:

We need someone to:

• Keep things humming: bookings, staff, stock, events — you’ll keep the wheels turning.

• Work with the team: manage a laid-back, fun crew who don’t do drama.

• Get creative: think of ways to boost bookings, plan epic functions, and maybe throw together some cheeky Instagram content.

• Admin like a boss: we love chilled vibes, but the backend still needs to be tight.

• Bring the fun: the vibe here matters. You’ve got to be a people person — someone who makes everyone feel welcome, from corporate groups to walk-ins.

• Work weekends: Yep, some weekends are part of the gig (it’s when we’re buzzing). But we balance it out — not every single one.

YOU:

• Super organised, reliable, and low-stress

• Confident with admin, bookings, and a bit of light marketing

• Got an RSA? Great. If not? We’ll pay for you to get one

• You’re easygoing, fun, and just… cool to be around

• Bonus points if you’re into events, golf, axe throwing, hospitality, or just good vibes

• Want extra hours? We’ve got our tactical & outdoor retail shop next door — Churches Tactical — and there’s plenty happening over there too.

THE GIG:

• Part-time to start (with growth opportunities as we expand across QLD)

• Flexible hours, mostly weekends and a couple of weekdays onsite

• Regular catch-ups with the owner to chat through ideas, plans, and ways to grow

This isn’t a job for clipboard managers. It’s for someone who’s proactive, up for a laugh, down to work, and ready to help us build something special. If you’re the type of person who makes things happen and still manages to have fun while doing it — we want you.
