The Opportunity: Senior Control Systems Engineer

We’re looking for a highly skilled Senior Control Systems Engineer to join our team immediately in Brisbane. This is a hands-on, leadership-focused role where you’ll collaborate closely with management and a team of engineers to design and deliver automation solutions that push industry standards for our clients who are predominantly Brisbane-based.

Location: Brisbane

Start Date: Immediate

Type: Full-time, permanent

Pay: $150,000 – $170,000 per year

What You’ll Be Doing

Design, develop and implement automation systems using PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA platforms

Lead projects and teams from start to finish, ensuring seamless execution and delivery

Provide on-site support as required, including commissioning and troubleshooting

Produce detailed technical documentation and project reports

Maintain compliance with all company, industry, and safety standards

Liaise and maintain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders

What You’ll Bring

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or related discipline

Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in Control Systems

Proven reliability, excellent attention to detail, and strong documentation skills

Strong leadership and project coordination capabilities

Valid driver’s license

Desirable Skills

The following experience will be highly regarded:

Proficiency in Rockwell and Siemens PLC platforms

Proficiency in HMI and SCADA systems such as FactoryTalk View and PlantSCADA (CitectSCADA)

Familiarity with virtualisation technologies like VMWare

Industry background in Manufacturing, Water or Food & Beverage is desired, but not essential

Engineers Australia registration
