SALCAN Process Technology is seeking experienced and talented Senior Electrical & Control Systems Engineers to join our team. Serving predominantly industrial clients in the Brisbane region, SALCAN can offer the right candidates a broad range of control systems and electrical engineering. Our team includes design engineers as well as electrical and instrumentation technicians. This differentiates SALCAN from pure engineering design houses and electrical contractors. It allows you to see your designs through from initial concept to installation and commissioning.

The ideal candidates will have significant experience in industrial electrical environments and a very strong safety and quality focus.

Your duties will include:

• Electrical design - LV and Control Systems
• Programming PLC's
• HMI programming

Responsibilities of the role include:

• High degree of focus on your own safety, as well as that of your fellow workers, our clients and the public.
• Accurate and diligent adherence to SALCAN policy, procedures and instructions.
• Supervision of other Engineers
• Project delivery to client specifications
• Preparing quotations for projects

To succeed in this role:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant engineering discipline is essential.
• Experience programming Rockwell and Siemens PLC's is essential
• Design experience for MCC and PLC panels, selection of field sensors, schematic design, and loop design is essential.
• Experience in AutoCAD Electrical & PowerCAD is preferred.
• HA competencies not essential but preferred.
• A working knowledge of AS3000 and AS3008 is essential.
• RPEQ is essential.
• Experience in heavy industry is essential - manufacturing and/or processing.
• A current full manual driver’s licence is required.
• A commitment to being punctual, responsible and reliable is essential.
• Good written and oral communication skills are essential.
