Position Title: Team Lead Warehouse
Reports to: Operations Manager
Industry: Meat Distribution
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Team Leader to join our dynamic warehouse team. As the Team Lead Warehouse, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring the efficient use of facilities for storage, stock rotation, compliance, and stock control management. You will play a key role in fostering a safe, productive, and efficient working environment, while leading a team of Warehouse Assistants to meet operational goals.
This role is a very hands on role where you will be required to complete daily warehouse duties along with the team.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the receipt, storage, and rotation of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods in compliance with company procedures.
Ensure timely availability of materials for production while maintaining stock accuracy.
Supervise the inspection of incoming goods to ensure adherence to company standards.
Monitor racking requirements and storage conditions to optimize space and maintain efficient processes.
Plan and coordinate stocktake activities, providing accurate and timely reporting of inventory.
Lead, develop, and motivate a team of Warehouse Assistants, promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with company policies, including Health & Safety, Food Safety, GMP, PPE, and HR procedures.
Drive operational performance, monitoring daily, weekly, and monthly targets and providing regular updates to senior management.
Effectively communicate issues, variances, or challenges to relevant stakeholders.
Champion stock accuracy, waste reduction, and the ongoing improvement of warehouse systems and processes.
- Load/unload trucks.
- General pick packing & warehouse duties
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience in a warehouse or logistics role, preferably in a similar industry.
Forklift license (essential).
Sound understanding of warehouse operations, stock management, and warehousing software.
Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop a team in a high-paced environment.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work within a cold enviornment (4 degrees)
- Ability to pass a background check
- Ability to lift up to 20kgs
