About the role
We are seeking an experienced chef to join our team at Saccharomyces Beer Cafe (SBC) in South Brisbane, QLD. This full-time role is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished chef to take on a role in Brisbane's latest dining precinct on Fish Lane. We have a small but mighty kitchen supporting one of the best beer taps lists in Brisbane.

What you'll be doing

Assisting the Head Chef in planning and managing the daily kitchen operations

Ensuring compliance with all food safety and hygiene regulations

Collaborating with the management team to monitor and control kitchen budgets

Working individually in a small kitchen and alongside the Head chef during busy periods

Developing and refining recipes to create innovative and delectable dishes

What we're looking for

Minimum 2 years' experience as a chef or similar role

Formal culinary training and/or experience in hospitality or culinary arts

Knowledge of food preparation techniques, food safety, and kitchen management

Ability to work alone and collaborate with front of house staff

Passion for creating unique and flavourful dishes

Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment

A love of customer interaction

About us
Saccharomyces Beer Cafe was established in Fish Lane in 2015. After a few years of wandering directionless through the pub grub arena, we found our calling (and our Head Chef). With the help of head chef, Thomas Emblard our kitchen focused on serving quality Belgian-inspired mains. Our menu rotates with the season and everything is made from scratch. Even though our kitchen is tiny, we are immensely proud of serving exceptional food to match the incredible independent beers, wines and spirits. As we have grown, so has the Fish lane precinct. The area is now known as one of Brisbane's best dining scenes.
