About the role

The Spaghetti House Trattoria' is seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Head Chef also a Sous Chef to join our team at our lively restaurant in South Bank, Queensland. This is a full-time position, offering the opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise and lead a skilled kitchen team to deliver exceptional Italian cuisine.

Senior Head Chef - What you'll be doing

• Manage all aspects of the kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and staff supervision
• Ensure the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency
• Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement new menu items and specials
• Oversee the efficient and cost-effective management of kitchen resources and inventory
• Foster a positive and productive team environment, providing guidance and training to kitchen staff
• Maintain compliance with all relevant health, safety, and food hygiene regulations

Sous Chef - What you'll be doing

• Support the Head Chef in managing all aspects of the kitchen operations, including food preparation, and staff supervision
• Ensure the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency
• Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and implement new menu items and specials
• Oversee the efficient and cost-effective management of kitchen resources and inventory
• Foster a positive and productive team environment, providing guidance and training to kitchen staff
• Maintain compliance with all relevant health, safety, and food hygiene regulations

What we're looking for

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Senior Head Chef in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant environment
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Sous Chef in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant environment
• Proven expertise in Italian cuisine and a deep understanding of traditional cooking techniques
• Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and work under pressure
• Strong leadership and team-building skills, with a passion for mentoring and developing kitchen staff
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with the front-of-house team
• Proficiency in food cost control and inventory management
• A relevant culinary qualification or diploma is highly desirable
