We are seeking a highly-motivated Mechanical Draft Engineer / Mechanical CAD Engineer on a Full-time Permanent position, based in Chatswood Sydney NSW.

You will be reporting to the Engineering Manager and work alongside a dynamic and diverse team. This is a hands-on role with full responsibility for drawing and documentation management from product conception to production release.

Responsibilities include:

· Communicate project status on a regular basis.

· Maintain complete documentation of designs including all CAD models and detailed drawings.

· Drawing number management including up keeping of drawing registers

· Ability to create and/or modify drawings from engineer-provided markups with a high level of attention to details.

Ensures plans and drawings of mechanical engineering work comply with industry standards and regulations

Creates detailed blueprints that manufacturers can use for mass production of mechanical parts

Uses CAD software and 3D printing to create models of mechanical parts, and specify product dimensions and quantity of materials needed.

· Prepare and circulate QA/QC of drawings.

· Administer the 3D drawing library.

· Identify areas for improvement and propose innovative solutions to enhance efficiency, productivity, and collaboration within the engineering department.

· Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending and implementing relevant tools and software to drive continuous improvement.

· Comply with OHS and maintain a commitment to safety.

Essential Selection Criteria:

· Diploma / Advance Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Tool Engineering / Plastics Engineering.

· Diploma or drafting certificate with additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

· 1 - 3 years in Engineering design, drafting and detailing experience with SolidWorks or any CAD Tools.

· Depth Knowledge in Plastics Material, Plastics Molding Process Technology.

· Strong knowledge in Injection Molding Technology and Mould Design.

· Experienced in Plastics Product design and Drafting (Assemblies, BOM - Parts Lists, Parts etc.)

· Experienced in Finite Element Analysis Tools to perform virtual simulation on designed products.

· Experience in Plastics flow simulation / Moldflow Simulation.

· Strong problem-solving skills (ability to think outside the box)

· Strong professional verbal and written communication skills.

· Highly organized, efficient, and detail oriented.

· Ability to perform tasks in a fast-paced engineering/production environment.

· Knowledge of file sharing, document management and collaboration tools.

· Ability to work unsupervised and work with a team.

· Unrestricted rights to work in Australia.

Desirable Selection Criteria:

· Experience working with Mechanical Design and Simulation on Product engineering.

· Experience with using SolidWorks CAD & CAE Simulation Software.

Trade qualification and/or experience on the tools in a mechanical, manufacturing role.
