About the role

Our engineering and design services have become an essential part of our solution offering and are increasingly requested by our clients. CPS is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Draftsperson looking to develop their design skills in the bulk materials handling, conveyor, and mining industries.

This is a full-time position based at CPS' Welshpool manufacturing facility to provide design support to customers and CPS engineering and sales teams.

Working from home on selected days is an option after probation.

This position will report to the Drafting Manager.

Duties & responsibilities

Mechanical design for CPS engineers, account managers and major clients including:

Design of conveyor rollers & industry standard idlers

Creation of manufacturing quality drawings and models

Working with the engineering team on designs for specific client requirements, covering rollers, frames and other components to apply robust and effective solutions

Essential attributes

Certificate IV in design, drafting or an associated Engineering course

Self-driven, but able to work as part of a team.

Metal working, fabrication, or manufacturing industry experience

Beneficial attributes

Experience within the mining industry or knowledge of conveyors and conveyor components.

Solidworks Accreditation.

Other CAD experience (Navisworks, SmartPlant etc.).

Metal working, fabrication, and manufacturing industry experience.

Salary Range: $75,000 to $85,000.
