About the Role

As a CAD Draughtsman at AEP Engineering, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining detailed 3D models and technical drawings that directly support our engineering and manufacturing operations. The role requires strong CAD proficiency, with a focus on Onshape, a cutting-edge cloud-based CAD package that integrates seamlessly with other industry-standard tools.

With Onshape’s superior onboarding bootcamp, the successful candidate will quickly adapt to AEP Engineering’s framework, ensuring a smooth transition into our established processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and technical drawings to support engineering projects.
• Work closely with engineers and production teams to ensure designs meet project requirements.
• Collaborate on design modifications, prototyping, and manufacturing integration.
• Maintain drawing accuracy, version control, and compliance with industry standards.
• Utilise Onshape’s cloud-based collaboration tools to streamline design workflows.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in CAD drafting within a mechanical or automotive engineering environment.
• Proficiency in Onshape CAD software (or strong experience with similar packages and willingness to transition).
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and design principles.
• Ability to interpret engineering specifications and technical documentation.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate across departments.
