At Freccia Azzurra Club, we are on a mission to create Melbourne’s home of Italian culture, music, food, and celebration. With a newly renovated venue capable of hosting over 370 guests, we are bringing to life a modern Italian destination for unforgettable experiences.

We’re now searching for a passionate, creative, and driven Functions & Events Manager to lead the charge in making our Club the beating heart of Italian events in Melbourne.

The Role:

We want a cultural curator – someone who lives and breathes hospitality, music, dancing, and all things Italian. This role is about bringing people together for moments that matter – from elegant Communions and family Sunday lunches to glamorous weddings and headline music acts.

You will be the key figure who designs and delivers a calendar packed with Italian and Australian entertainment, family celebrations, and cultural events that ignite the senses.

Key Responsibilities:

· Create a World-Class Event Program: Design and deliver a diverse range of functions – from weddings, baptisms, and communions to milestone birthdays, gala dinners, and cultural festivals.

· Bring Entertainment to Life: Secure headline acts, singers, entertainers, and special guests from Italy and Australia to excite and engage members and guests.

· Sunday Family Lunches: Develop and manage signature Sunday Pranzo experiences –

a weekly tradition full of music, laughter, and authentic Italian hospitality.

· Lead Event Operations: Oversee the end-to-end delivery of all functions and events –

from inquiry to execution – ensuring every guest leaves with lasting memories.

· Sales & Business Development: Proactively build relationships with clients,

promoters, and cultural organisations to drive new bookings and grow the club’s

reputation.

· Hospitality Excellence: Work closely with our kitchen and service teams to deliver seamless food and beverage offerings that showcase Italian cuisine and hospitality.

· Cultural Programming: Plan and coordinate traditional Italian celebrations (e.g. La Befana, Ferragosto, Festa della Repubblica) and modern events like music nights, Ballo Liscio, and themed galas.

· Venue Activation: Activate our 370+ capacity venue with vibrant, engaging, and commercially successful events that attract both members and the wider public.

Who You Are:

· A passionate event leader who loves music, dancing, food, family, and culture – especially when it’s Italian!

· Experienced in managing high-capacity venues and complex event operations (clubs, hotels, cultural centres, or entertainment venues).

· A confident networker with strong industry contacts in entertainment, promoters, and cultural groups.

· A hands-on operator who thrives in both planning and on-the-floor event delivery.

· A creative thinker who understands how to curate event programs that balance family, tradition, and modern trends.

· Skilled in hospitality, F&B service standards, and working closely with chefs and service teams.

· Someone with a love for community and bringing people together through celebration, food, and music.
