Position Overview: Lorraine's is seeking an experienced Functions & Events Coordinator / Manager with a strong background in function operations. This role is responsible for selling and coordinating functions, events, and group bookings to maximize space utilization and ensure seamless event delivery.
The successful candidate will be passionate about hospitality, have excellent communication skills and possess exceptional organisational and leadership skills.
This role offers a combination of flexible Monday to Friday administration days combined with operational management of events at night and weekends as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute marketing plans to maximize bookings and revenue at Lorraine's (in conjunction with Managing Director and General Manager).
- Promote and sell functions and events.
- Communicate with clients to finalise event details and ensure seamless planning and execution.
- Manage all aspects of event coordination including client coordination, menus, approvals, and payment.
- Respond to inquiries and provide detailed information on services, pricing, and availability.
- Conduct client meetings to assess needs and recommend suitable packages.
- Create detailed event run sheets and coordinate all aspects of the function/event to ensure flawless execution.
- Coordinate requirements including AV, catering, setup, resources, running order, supplier management, bump-in/out schedules, and floorplans.
- Provide regular revenue reporting and implement strategies to maximize sales.
- Develop and implement procedures for booking management and event coordination.
- Train staff on event systems and procedures.
- Manage events ensuring the highest standard of service.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar Functions & Events Coordinator / Manager role.
- Diploma qualification in a relevant field and/or 1 - 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Proven experience in cash handling and financial management, including an understanding of Australian Pub operations.
- RSA and RCG qualified
- Strong organizational, administration, and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience using booking systems and software an advantage
