Our Practice

Join our dynamic surgical practice, working alongside two doctors (Upper GI & General Surgeon & Burn Scar Expert) renowned for their expertise in complex hernias, obesity, gastrointestinal cancers and scar management (surgical scars, trauma and burn scars, acne scars and scars from other medical treatments). You'll be part of a dedicated team consisting of 3 administration staff, using Xestro medical software.

The Role

As our Practice Manager, you will have a diverse and dynamic work experience, undertaking a wide range of duties and responsibilities. Your main objective will be to oversee the daily operations of both practices located at Woolloomooloo and Kogarah leading the team, enabling the doctors to focus on providing exceptional patient care.

You will be based at the Woolloomooloo practice.

This is a permanent full-time position working 5 days per week. The salary is $100-$120k per annum depending upon previous skills and knowledge.

Your Duties & Responsibilities

Provide supervision and leadership to the team including training and performance management

Stay abreast and have your finger on the pulse in relation to billing patient flow, patient care and theatre management

Management and co-ordination of billings (consultation, surgical and health funds)

Coordinate surgery admissions, hospital paperwork and theatre lists in conjunction with administration staff

Efficient management of all patient data, appointments, procedures, clinical files, correspondence and accounts

Maintain high standards of practice processes and procedures for maximum efficiency

Monitor clinic performance and collaborate with the accountant in relation to financial reporting

Ensure compliance with HR best practices systems, risk management and WHS

Coordinate staff payroll, accounts receivable/payable and maintain debt prevention

Support the doctors in achieving practice goals and objectives to drive growth

Foster strong relationships with healthcare professionals and stakeholders within the health community

To be successful in this position, you will have the following attributes:-

Previous experience as a Practice Manager/Senior Medical Secretary in a surgical practice

Competent in using cloud based medical software (Xestro) is desirable (training available if required) and Microsoft Office Suite

You understand the operational functions within a surgical practice and the importance of a Practice Manager role in ensuring the smooth operational daily function. You are always ten steps ahead on account of your thorough organisation, planning and action

Strong leadership skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure

A passion for driving growth and innovation

Excellent time management and organisational skills

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

The ability to problem-solve and adapt to changing conditions

A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with industry regulations
