About the role

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our growing team at BestBuild Fitout & Construction in Diggers Rest, Victoria. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the success of our construction projects by providing accurate cost estimates and detailed analysis to support our bidding and tendering processes. What you'll be doing

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor costs
• Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to identify all necessary components and accurately quantify the work required
• Collaborate with project managers, procurement teams, and subcontractors to gather relevant cost information and ensure estimates are comprehensive
• Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and provide recommendations to improve project profitability
• Maintain and continuously update the company's cost database and estimating tools
• Assist with the preparation of bid proposals and tender submissions
• Provide support and mentoring to junior members of the estimating team

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5 years of experience as an Estimator in the construction industry
• Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and industry best practices
• Proficient in using estimating software and spreadsheet programs
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders
• Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in cost estimating
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in construction management, quantity surveying, or a related field would be highly regarded
